Metastatic malignant Brenner tumour in a cervical lymph node – a case report

Background: Malignant Brenner tumour (MBT) is a rare ovarian epithelial malignancy that accounts for <0.05% of all neoplasms. Most cases are limited to the ovary and fallopian tube lymph node metastasis uncommon. Aims: We present case 65-year-old woman who was diagnosed with metastatic MBT in supraclavicular node. Methods: She initially 6 years earlier managed total abdominal hysterectomy bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy but declined adjuvant chemotherapy. investigated this year 1-month history neck mass. Results: The core biopsy mass misdiagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma focal keratinisation. slides original resection which were reviewed conjunction showed similar appearance immunohistochemical stain profile (p40 GATA3 positivity). Therefore, diagnosis corrected following consideration overall clinical context previous pathology. Discussion: This highlights importance clinicopathological correlation review relevant specimens ensure accurate diagnoses optimal management patients.
